About Top Women Academy
The charter flight from ‘board ready’ to ‘ready to board’
Top Women Academy is an initiative by Carmen Breeveld, following the publication of her book *The Secret of the Old Boys Network*. At the time, SER Top Woman Mariëtte Hamer received the first copy. SER Top Women is a merger of several organizations that have been addressing the issue of the lack of women advancing to the top over the past decades. With the recently approved SER Women’s Quota, the goal is to have 30% women participate on Supervisory Boards. However, women can also do a lot themselves to achieve their dream positions.
That’s why Top Women Academy helps highly educated, ambitious women advance to top management positions, Supervisory Boards, or Executive Boards.
Despite the right qualifications, you may still encounter the glass ceiling. You want to advance to the top level but struggle to connect with the right people or secure the position you aspire to.
The experience of selection committees shows that the barriers are not due to a lack of knowledge, but to the unwritten rules, the so-called soft skills. With the right soft skills, a top position is well within your reach.
